Finally paid someone to give Dragin a proper website.  It took a long time for me to trust my comic to an outside group.  When I eventually stopped procrastinating and reached for help I was amazed at the enthusiasm and support I received.  I was afraid of giving someone else control of something I had worked on for so long.  Over the years I’ve heard about the consequences that could happen with trusting one’s work to others too quickly.  Eventually, though, through mentors and trusted sources, I learned an important message in pursuing cartooning online.  I’m not meant to do this alone.  It’s okay to ask for help when I don’t know the answer to parts of this giant machine.  Too long I’ve had the idea of,  “It’s my comic, my idea, I’ve got to do it.”  Being part of a larger whole, a community of creators, I’ve learned and grown from that knowledge, allowing me to achieve these goals so much faster.

Finish line

Much relief to crossing another finish line.  Even though I have a proper website, I’ve still got a few tweaks here and there.  Some fine tuning and I’m sure I’ll learn more over time as I dig deeper.  The main goal for me of having a landing page, a website, is to have something I solely control.  I use all manner of social media and other platforms to share Dragin.  History has taught me to never be too reliant on other outlets I’m not controlling to share that work.  I don’t know what will happen in the future.  What social media platforms or other media may come and go?  The one thing I can rely on, though, is to have my own place that I control to share my work.  No one can take that away.  It’s important to have multiple legs under the table.  That means multiple ways of sharing and monetizing my comics.  I try to have those outlets always lead back to the website.  I’ll keep you in the loop as I discover other things down the road.  For now, back to the comics!
